If they do a FULL THYROID PANEL that should tell you something, don't let them just check your TSH or your T4 make sure they check it ALL. And like my general doc told me, she doesn't check for certain things because she's not a specialist but my thyroid (TSH) is NORMAL now but my thyroglubin antibodies are extremely high. The thyroglubin is probably something your regular doc won't check for so you may want to consider seeing an Endocrinologist. I have nodules on the right lobe of my thyroid and I'm now taking 0.075 mcgs of Synthroid compared to the 0.05 I was taking. I haven't lost any of the weight I put on but I'm optimistic that it will come off this summer.

Good luck.
