Painful bowel movements during menstration

Since the birth of my second child I have been experiencing a great deal of difficulty passing a bowel movement while menstrating. I sometimes go the entire duration of my period without a bowel movement, causing extreme discomfort. When I am able to have a bowel movement it is quite painful. My diet is full of fibre and I don't usually have any problems outside of menstration. My last child was 10lbs. 2oz. and my doctor has said my cervix is posterior and very low. Do you have any idea why this is happening. Thank you
