HPV

I have recently been struggling with vulval/anal itch and urethritis for at least a year. I am married for seven years and did not experience any of these problems during the first six, only when we decided to try and get pregnant. My doctor cannot find any infection. Also, went for a second opinion, with the same results.

I am somewhat confused as to the connection between HPV and vulval/anal itch. Do you need to see genital warts for HPV to be a possible problem? I have had pap smears faithfully every year, always normal. Do pap smears include HPV testing. If so, are they always accurate.

I appreciate any assistance you can give....I'm at the end of my rope!

Thanks.
