Ovarian Cyst and PainFrom: jody (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Jan 2003 21:21:59 -0600 (CST)
I am 36, have two healthy children and pregnancies and am healthy. I recently found out (through CT scan) that I have an ovarian cyst; my doctor says it is larger than the ovary itself. Is that unusually large? He said it is fluid filled and also all blood work (including CA-125) is negative. I am still having pain which includes my leg and lower back. I also have had acne for about two years that is consistently worse right beofe my period. I have always had extremely painful periods. (I gave birth to my first child without any pain med. so I know pain :) My doctor has suggested a sonogram in six weeks to see if there are any changes. I have been doing some reading on progesterone and estrogen dominance. I wonder if natural progesterone cream could help me. Is laproscopy the only definitive way to see what the cyst is? Is waiting a month+ to do anything else a good idea? Thank you.
