I had the same thing that I think you are describing. That's how my journey started. I had acute pain one night after work with nausea and vomiting. I thought that my ovaries had exploded. Had been having heavy bleeding during periods for some time but after this incident the bleeding was much worse and a lot heavier. I had large clots and a lot of blood really fast. Could it be possible that you were pregnant? Did you notice any sensitivity in your breast at any time previously? Certain types of cysts can rupture and cause pain. Ask any women who has had this happen and they will tell you it hurts like *#@@! Fibroids are usually found in the uterus. Cysts occur on your ovaries and are a natural occurance but there are many different types that can cause pain. Have you had an ultrasound? Do you have a GYN? Have you ever had laproscopic surgery? Have you had heavy bleeding, abd. pain, or low back pain? These are things to consider and make note of so that when you see your doctor they can be of some help in resolving your issues.
