Dysfunctional bleeding?From: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Jan 2003 09:20:37 -0600 (CST)
Hoping someone can help me with this one. For years now I have had abnormal cycles and some doctors were not much help. Then about two years ago it got more severe. I bleed non stop for about two months straight before the doctor at that time put me on something to stop it. I'm seeing a new doctor now. So far he has figured out I have a uterine septum (which was removed recently). A few times before this I would have the unstopable bleeding. He would put me on birth control pills to stop it. I did have an ovarian cyst but that cleared up on its on..or with the pills. Recently he had me on two pills a day but I continued to bleed. I went in for an ultra sound yesterday and he discovered a mass. It was a fallopian cyst caused by the birth control pills. He said to stop the pills and call on Monday with an update. Now all hormone tests have come back fine. So I asked him what is causing all this uncontrolable bleeding. He said more than likely it is just dysfunctional bleeding. I don't understand what causes this. If my hormones are fine why am I having this and how can it get cleared up? My husband and I have been trying for five years now to have children and having no luck. Thanks! Steph
