*Doctors - I too have questions about hormones and hypoglycemia???*From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 Jan 2003 15:58:29 -0600 (CST)
JME posted: "For months, my doctor has tried to find the right combo of hormones for me (hyster and ovaries removed). My daughter has been diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. The more I learn about this, the more I believe that I may be suffering from it also. Does anyone have any ideas? I have the symptoms of dizziness, nausea, waking during the night and being unable to go back to sleep, fatigue, headaches, aniety, heart palpataions, etc. Of course, I don't have all these are once, but one or two a least once a day. At times, the symptoms lessen or go away upon eating. Would it be in my best interest to have a glutose tollerance test like my daughter? Could hypoglycemia be the problem and not hormones? THANKS ahead for any advice/opinions given!!" I also have wondered about this. I too have a child diagnosed with it and have similar symptoms to JME. But my problem is that I have Celiac Disease also (gluten intollerance - gluten is found in wheat, rye, barley, and oats). Do I need to be tested for hypoglycemia? I have found a few Celiac sites that say there can be a realtionship of the two. I'm on a strict gluten-free diet and adhere to it religiously (celiac tests currently showing negative which proves I'm adhering to the diet). I too have had a hysterectomy with ovaries taken out. My hormones have been changed numberous times and I still have the same problems (headaches, fatigue, faintness, dizziness, etc). Also, insulin-dependent diabetes runs in my family. Thanks ahead for any advice given!
