Pilonidal Cyst & Tailbone Pain

Hi,

I am a 31 year old female and about 4 years ago I developed a pilonidal cyst. After several rounds of antibiotics, a surgeon lanced the cyst for me, hoping that scar tissue would fill up the cyst and prevent it from coming back. I did not have to have surgery to have the cyst removed and have been fine since.

Recently, I have begun to experience an "aching" tailbone from time to time after sitting for long periods. I also occasionally have some pain in my tailbone (feels like its bruised) before and during my periods.

Can you tell me what may be causing this discomfort? Could it just be the scar tissue or an after effect of the pilonidal cyst? Or should I be concerned about something more serious, like the cyst recurring or something else? Also, I plan on getting pregnant soon (first child) and wonder if this will become worse during my pregnancy?

Also, any hints on what I can do to relieve the achiness? I sit at a desk all day for my job and it's very hard to make it through the afternoon.

Thanks in advance for your respone!
