Simple Ovarian CystFrom: Minnie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Oct 2002 12:10:30 -0600 (CST)
HI, I am 29 yrs old, and recently made a visit to my GYN because of abnormal bleeding. I have been bleeding nonstop for about 3 months now. During a pelvic exam, she found a cyst on my right ovary. I was immediately put on birth control. The following two weeks I had an ultrasound which confirmed that it was a simple cyst. So, I have another Ultrasound scheduled for 2 months from now to check on it. I was not told the size, just upon the pelvic exam she told me it was big. Due to the fact that it is a simple cyst, I am not too too worried about it. MY main concern was if it had teeth or not...yuk! Onto my questions, 1.for what reasons could this be causing bleeding for soo long? 2.Is there any other symptoms that I should be watching for? 3.How long should I wait for the birth control, to control the bleeding before I call my doctor about it? I really do appreciate your advice on this:) Sadly, I was ill informed about all this. Minnie
