I got my first period when i was 13 and have had a regular one month cycle until i started a high-protein and low-carb diet, which i tried for about 5-6 months. It worked well and i lost a lot of weight but during those months my period did not come, for about 4 months. I got scared and immediately went off the diet and my periods came regularly again for about 4-5 months. Now, eventhough i have regular and healthy eating patterns, and am very sure that i am getting the right nutrition and in good amounts, my period has stopped coming again for about 5-6 months. I have not ever been involved sexually with anyone so i am positive that i am not pregnant. I am very worried about this abnormality because my breasts are hardly developed eventhough i am very tall and have great hips and a nice figure. I have not cut out carbs from my diet this whole year and my periods only returned for a while. Please help me on this, and if you can give me some info on the causes and cures for this i would be delighted. I am embarassed to talk to my doctor because she is my aunty and is not a very secretive person. I am sorry to bother you with this but i am very very worried. Thank you for your co-operation. God Bless. > >Cassandra This is why doctors don't treat family members except in emergencies. If you have insurance you are free to see almost any doctor you want. You don't have anything to be ashamed of, so you should be able to talk to your aunt/doctor. I would imagine she would want very much to help you. If she blabs all over town about your irregular periods then SHE should be ashamed and embarassed because she is not a professional.
