Re: Anesthetist/Anesthesiologist:I'm not making myself clearFrom: Curious (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Aug 2002 20:59:06 -0500 (CDT)
Its NOT the procedure I am terrified of. I've asked my gastro to do the colonoscopy w/o sedation or anesthesia. She won't. Its the being powerless, it is terrifying to be awake enough to respond to their orders to roll over, etc. but be powerless to say no or refuse or have a will of my own and then not being able to remember what went on. If I can't be awake, know what is going on, and remember what is going on I am NOT going thru w/a colonoscopy. Ever since I called her answering service and cancelled the scope its like someone has lifted 10 tons off my shoulders, mind and soul!! At least I'm not feeling the resentment that they were deliberately not letting me talk to the anesthetist or anesthesiologist and trying to hand me a con job about that. Thank you again for that bit of information.
