Irregular periodsFrom: Cassie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Aug 2002 16:55:31 -0500 (CDT)
I am 30 years old and generally healthy. My periods have been irregular for about a year and a half. I skip periods and then have heavy ones the next month. I am not sexually active. I have had sonagrams and been examined by the doctor. Nothing abnormal was found. I was put on Aygestin for 3 months and my periods came normally. A couple of months later, they became irregular again. I didn't do anything for a while, but two weeks ago, I mentioned it to the doctor. She suggested that I go on birth control to regulate my periods. I had started some light bleeding the day before and thought it was my period since it had been about four weeks since my last one. She told me to start the pill (Alesse) that day. It will be 2 weeks on Tuesday and I am still having light bleeding with occasional small clots. Should I be worried? Should I contact the doctor?
