Failure rate with condoms is 12 times as high as it is with the OCP's. 6 pregnancies per 100 woman years with condoms and 0.5 pregnancies per 100 woman years with the pill.

The pill lowers the incidence of ovarian and endometrial cancer and it decreases the incidence of breast biopsy.
