Pregnancy causes a lot more weight gain.

If you are in a mutually monogamous relationship and have been pregnant once, an IUD would be a great form of contraception.

The only thing diferent about the Nuvaring is the manner in which the hormones gain entrance into the body. The hormones can cause retention of up to 5-8 pounds of water, but this isn't fat. Any weight gained above and beyond that is due to increased intake or decreased output of calories.

Yasmin causes on the average 3 pounds less water retention than the other OCP's.
