Vascular problems - Need Help!From: Chantal (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Jul 2002 18:24:53 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am an 18 year old female. I have had vein problems all of my life; I was born with spider veins all over my body, which have only gotten worse as I have gotten older. I am currently undergoing sclerotherapy to eliminate these as much as possible. However, my *new* concern now are blue veins (reticular?) all over the place. Veins on my chest, arms, legs, and stomach have all become visible just recently (within the past month) where there weren't any before. On top of this, I have aches all over my body almost constantly. I went to the doctor about the blue veins on my legs (which look different than the ones on the rest of my body, the ones in my legs are about two inches in length whereas the rest of my veins are long) and the aching (at which point I didn't have aching in the rest of my body) and she said that the aching and the veins were the beginning of varicose veins and gave me exercises to do. Okay, but since then I have aching all over the place (chest, arms, shoulders), and these weird looking veins are showing up. What is going on and is there anything I can do to make these veins and the aching go away, or at the very least prevent new veins from showing up? Thank you for your time.
