I have been on Yasmin for about one year now. I am olive toned skin and am succeptible to melasma (dark facial spots or pigmentation). I had a slight spotting for a few years. My dermatologist prescribed a bleaching cream which contains hydroquinone. I have since learned that this bleaching agent could make the spots worse. I don't truly know if the cream or the birth control pill has made these spots spread and become darker. Do you know, or have you known any birth control users who have developed dark patches of the face? Is this typical on birth control? If I stop the pill, will these marks go away or fade? Do you think I should stop the pill? Help! I am very upset!!!
