The recent news on estrogren has disclosed that taking estrogen can increase the probability of a 41% increase in strokes and 29% heart attacks. I've been on premarin (I've had a hysterectomy)for ten years. In looking back, within a year of beginning the dosage I developed high blood pressure (HBP). I am wondering: 1. What good is estrogen doing me now? (I'm 59) 2. Could there be a correlation between my HBP and taking estrogen? 3. What discomfort will I experience if i quit estrogen? a. how long will it last? b. are there vitamins or herbal vitamins i can take to decrease the discomfort? 4. What long-term negative affects would there be if I stopped the estrogen?
