BCP's

I have an exam coming up and have been thinking about taking BCP's, not just for the contraception, but also to stop the 10-14 days of cyclic eating and junk food cravings that I have each month. I realize that if the pill stops ovulation and controls the cycle, my constant eating the 2nd half of the month should be better controlled, too. Nonetheless, I would still like to know, does a monophasic vs. triphasic pill work better to control appetite?

FYI: I already have two children (age 8 & 2 years), normal 28 day cycles, non-smoker.

Thanks for you help!
