Re: Could this be an ectopic pregnancy??From: Brenda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 18 Jun 2002 22:03:57 -0500 (CDT)
I don't know if this will answer your ?'s but it's my own personal experience. I had a tubal pregnancy 3 years ago in April. I used a HPT a couple of days after my missed period since I'm like clockwork and sure enough, I was pregnant. A couple of days after I tested I started spotting and having pain. I called my dr. and they got me in right away. Ended up having a laparoscopy that night. They continued to do bloodwork for the next several days up to a couple of weeks. One week after the laparoscopy, the Dr. sent me for a methotextrate shot due to the fact that my levels kept rising. Seems to me that they were concerned that the levels were rising which meant that the pregnancy hadn't ended and would continue to grow, thereby causing the tube to burst. I passed a very large clot after the shot and after that, my levels started to drop. My pregnancy test showed positive right away, the only option I can suggest is to try Planned Parenthood or a clinic where they have low cost tests if you are still concerned.
