Really BAD kidney infection - any relief?From: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 15:22:57 -0500 (CDT)
Long story short - I've been diagnosed with pyelonephritis that I've probably had for over two months now (and no one could diagnose!). I've been through 5, yes 5 different antibiotics trying to get rid of this - Cipro, Tequin, Ceftin, Sulfa and now Doxycycline. (after my 2nd RX they did a C&S, but switched me in the middle and then I was allergic to Sulfa drugs I found out). I am in SO MUCH PAIN that I can't do anything. I'm tired of calling my doctor, again, about this. It's almost laughable what I've been through just trying to get a diagnosis. Three ER visits, CT's, U/S, MRI's, course no one said "pee in a cup". What, if anything, can I take for this extreme pain I have? I thought NSAID's were a no-no. I've only been on the doxy for 24 hours, so I know it'll be another day or two for it to kick in.
