Re: endo & UTI's...to KristyFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 May 2002 14:42:24 -0700 (PDT)
Kim, Cystoscopy done in the dr's office is not going to give a true diagnosis of IC if that is suspected. I would like to suggest that you see about another cystoscopy and under general anesthesia b/c the amount of stretching that is necessary to diagnose IC can be quite painful and would not be a good idea to do in the office setting. That link to the ICA will give more details as to why it should be done with general anesthesia. Also, when my dr thought I had IC in 2000 I told her that I didn't have any typical symptoms and she told me that I probably had atypical symptoms. Well, I never went to have the cystoscopy done b/c I told her that if I ever need one of those that I want it done at the same time that I have a laparoscopy. Pls, pls find another urologist to consult and get a cystoscopy done via general anesthesia. If you would like to continue this discussion off the list pls let me know and I can tell you more. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
