?rectocele and anal fissureFrom: No (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 May 2002 20:49:05 -0500 (CDT)
I have had rectocele fixed two times the latest being two years ago. My urogyn says "repair looks good" at yearly visit 3 months ago. However, I have to splint/strain to have normal B.M. I have also had problems with anal fissures. I had to have it surgically repaired three weeks ago because of inflammation and non-healing. My internal stitches broke down one week after the fissure repair due to having to strain/splint to go to bathroom. (I know this is graphic, but the feces gets caught up behind the suture line and it pouches out into the vaginal area). Now, the fissure is still not healing, is VERY painful, and general surgeon is considering sending me to colorectal doc. I know the rectocele has recurred or I wouldn't have to splint to go.. would I? Can the colorectal doc help with both? Also, my general surgeon said that I had some kind of pelvic problem as I have had several surgeries just for prolapse (bladder, vaginal vault, enterocele)... I am tired and at my wits end..... Any suggestions?
