Continuous use of Diane-35From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Apr 2002 12:41:28 -0500 (CDT)
I have been taking Diane-35 for acne treatment for 4 months during which time I have not stopped for a period. Due to endemetriosis I have incapacitating periods and short of having a hysterectomy, I don't know how else to manage. I still cramp about 10 days per month while taking Diane-35 pills but it is mild and I have not had any spotting. My doctor will not give me advice about taking this pill continously because it is not approved to be taken that way in Canada. I have read that it IS safe to take oral contraceptives continuosly but I am seeking some reassurance that Diane-35 specifically is okay given it's estrogen/anti-androgen combination. Thanks Amanda
