question re: 14 y/o daughterFrom: Diane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 28 Apr 2002 02:27:50 -0500 (CDT)
I recently had a (TAH) hysterectomy due to what they felt was a mass, suspicious for malignancy...which showed on a CT Scan (other symptoms were extremely heavy bleeding, major abdominal bloating/hardening, clotting, anemia, pain, fatigue, etc for many years) After surgery, I was told that the uterus had several pockets of adenomyosis, but wasn't as large as she had anticipated from the CT. There was also endo on some diverticulae on colon, which was left because they were afraid of damaging the colon. (I'd been told by 2 of the military dr's that it couldn't possibly be endo, probably just more adhesions and having a surgery would just make more...this was about a month before the CT Scan) I'm still having alot of the abdominal bloating and hardening, which I had hoped the surgery would have alleviated. One question is...I recently had some slight pink bleeding for 2 days after intercourse...is this normal, since my hysterectomy was done about 6 months ago? My daughter has had her period since she was 11 and for the past year, she has been experiencing alot of pain, heavy cycles and vomiting during each period. I'm wondering if it's probable that she has endo also or if I should try to get an appt for her with our primary for an ob/gyn referral? I appreciate any advice on this...I just hate to see her in pain like this.
