Actually, the DNA test does not have a false negative rate. False positives aren't going to kill you...false negatives will. Remember, it is checking for the DNA of the virus...not a few random cells that a cytologist can possibly miss after reading hundreds of them. Go to thier website and you'll be impressed. http://www.digene.com. And if you search the archives you will see that I most certainly was blasted. As was another woman later. I was told that the test was invented purely to make money and that there is no real "need"for it. I chose to ignore thier opinion, because I'm certain that a test that could possibly take business away from them does indeed worry them. I believe Ms. Nesbitt was the most vocal. That's fine. Anyone who comes here can choose to listen to advice given or take into account the human emotions that motivate them. And to answer your qustion...I did contact my MD about it and she poo-pooed the very idea of a home test as being unnecessary in this country. I think she too, was worried about the posibility of women taking control of thier own health. Regardless of what a few docs think...I will be buying it when it comes out. S
