Uterine Lining Thickness QuestionFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Mar 2002 17:42:46 -0600 (CST)
Ok, I just received my ultrasound results the other day in a written report. The description of my uterine lining was that it was 2.5 cm thick. Now, the concern I have is that I had just spent 2 months bleeding non-stop, sometimes very heavy and some times not so heavy. The question is, if I had been bleeding that long, how was there any lining left to be measured to that degree? Also, please understand that my doctor is in the process of treating the anemia that was so severe, and he gave me 5 doses of progestin to stop the bleeding which worked. No bleeding now in a month and a week or so. I am also 50 and started menses at 9 years of age. I am not questioning my doctors priorities at all.Just wondering about that lining being so thick still after all that bleeding and tissues loss that I experienced. Tubes were tied 20 years ago, no pregnancy took place because of tubal and lack of sexual intercourse or exposure. I apologize if this is too long, but my gyn visit is still a month away and I am nervous that something new will pop up before then. Thanks
