is it possible to pass uterine polyps?

My Dr. thinks I may have uterine polyps, after a year and 7months infertility....I have a hysteroscopy schduled.

Is it possible to pass one of these? I passed a small, somewhat fiberous black colored thing during the week before my period.....it looked like a cherry with a stem.

does prolonged exposure to birth control increase the risk of these?

Are many women successful in concieving after having polyps?

How much do uterine polyps affect fertility? Is it only if the are severe? or can small ones pose a problem, or it the problem quanity?

thanks,

MSP
