Sacral Colpopexy - perineal descent and PMTFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 1 Mar 2002 08:21:47 -0600 (CST)
accoring to my obs and Gyna Consultant I have perineal descent with discomfort and incomplete evacuation. I also have prolapse. there is no neuro physiological evidence of pudendal neuropathy and no and colorectal intervention, whatever these are? Sacral colpopexy is being suggested but i understand there is a risk of graft migration. what i can't seem to find out is how high the risk is. I have heard some horror stories about this procedure and really don't know whether to go ahead kwith it. The Consultant has discussed this operation with me and advised that I could have a hystorectomy at the same time. I asked if this would help with my PMT as I suffer increddibly with this, sometimes to the point where I wish I wasn't here. I have tried a number of alternative therepies but nothing seems to work. What effects me most is the complete personality change I seem to have. I get so angry, stressed and have palpatations and panic attaks. I suffer for a short period during ovulation, usually 3 days and then have a short break before it starts again. It then continues until I commence my period by which time I'm so tired that it takes me a couple of days to just feel normal again. The consultant advised me that he could suppress my ovaries for a few months to see if it would help with my PMT and has suggested that if this is sucessful my ovaries are also removed. I really dont know what to do and wondered what your thoughts where
