Dr. Braun, Not chronic. Sudden onset pain almost 2weeks ago, then intermittent ache w/sharp pain during exam. Nausea (no vomitting, just lots of nausea and no appetite) a few days after pain. U/S=negative. CBC normal, and SedRate low (like 2?). So unlikely it's appendix. Pregnancy test last week was negative, but if it's any kind of pregnancy that's DAMN soon because it was only about 13 days into my cycle (U/S looked at ovaries too, also normal looking).

My Gyn's office was good about getting me in tomorrow. I've decided if this yeilds nothing (except more pain), I will look up a good GI person in the area and try to see about a barium swallow with SBFT, at least as a starting point. My last upper endoscopy was two years ago, not much change there. Still gastritis. Still taking prilosec. This is pretty high for lower end GI (and very little bowel involvment here, normal to constipated, mostly because I can't push much due to pain). I've had spasms before, but never ones that last for weeks, and the pain is relieved with BM, not made worse.

Thanks for the replies (all of you, Janice and anon too!). I am going to try to keep a good attitude for tomorrow (Lush bath and meditation tonight).

I'll write back when I have more info. -Laura
