History: I am 30 years old and three years ago had both of my fallopian tubes removed due to excessive scar tissue in the tubes and my third ectopic pregnancy. They were removed with an incision similar to that of a C-Section (about 4" long at the lower abdomen). 5 months ago I had a cyst (I believe it was functional) the size of a tennis ball removed from my right ovary. It was removed by utilizing the same incision line as the previous surgery. The physician indicated that I did not have a lot of scar tissue from the first surgery. Since the removal of the cyst 5 months ago the left potion of my abdominal area is protruding and sensitive to the touch, so much so at times it hurt to have clothing on. The area swells with any increased activity, if my bladder is full or I am menstruating the pressure is almost unbearable. I also experience pressure, to a lesser degree, when laying on my left side. My physician has prescribed Vioxx and is convinced it is scar tissue. The Vioxx does not appear to be helping. Questions: Is this reaction normal given my history? Is it possible I have another cyst already? Is this scar tissue? Is there anything recommended to alleviate the pain and pressure? Should I seek a second opinion (my physician is a well-respected gyno-onchologist and I do trust him). Thanks, L
