painful glands at vagina entrance.From: Adair (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Feb 2002 15:42:06 -0600 (CST)
Hello! my history- vulvar irritation for a year due to reactions to soaps and creams, have spent the past 8 months trying to heal the area. Recently I examined the area myself with a mirror and found that there are some red dots that have not healed, they are extremely inflamed and burn to the touch. I did some research on the net and believe these "red dots" are glands at the entrance of the vagina. (3 dots on each side of the entrance to be exact.) I read that they are normaly not visable unless there is a cyst or abcess, in this case they can grow to become about the size of a coffee bean. My question is, mine do not look like "coffee bean's" but are very open, red and swollen, the first thing I noticed when looking at the area. could there be a cyst or abcess? could they just be inflamed? is there any cure for this? Thank you.
