[Birth Control] Yasmin vs. OrthoCyclen

I have been using OrthoCyclen as a birth control method for over six years now, for both the purpose of preventing pregnancy and for preventing the formation of ovarian cysts. I am fairly happy with OrthoCyclen as my birth control method, but am curious about Yasmin as I have heard so many wonderful things about it. Can I switch pills, or could that "screw up" my system? And if I do switch, how effective will it be right away or will I have to use a backup of method of birth control? Are there any disadvantages or advantages to switching to Yasmin? Please help. Thank you.
