Hi....endo treatments...no where left to turn.......?From: Olivia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jan 2002 09:26:18 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I usually post messages on the endo. forum...but I thought that I would come here and get a few different ideas from members and hopefully some of the Dr's. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in October of 2000 via laparoscope...apparently the endo was mild...implants were found in the cul-de-sac, on the round ligament, and on the right paracolic gutter. Anyways...after the procedure I started on Lupron...which actually did work pretty well...I completd a "9" month course of the Lupron...and just recently got my period back...Well..the cramps, back pain, etc. are terrible, so bad that I can't even get out of bed without almost passing out. I went to see my gyn and she recommended another 9 month course of Lupron. I told her that I wasn't so sure about taking the Lupron again...due to unknown long term side effects...She didn't even listen to me...she just pretty much said that's what we're gonna do. I am a RN..and have a pretty good grasp on things...but it didn't matter. She said that a repeat laparoscopy would be of no use because it clearly didn't help the first time and that endo. can be so deep, or microscopic, etc. that it would never be able to be all removed unless I went to a "endo expert" and that it would be too expensive. I can't go on with this pain anymore...and don't want to take the Lupron again..I just don't think it's safe....please help me. Also...since my last period..I have had a continuous pulsating pain on my right side....The GYN. didn't even examine me...she just did a consult. I really liked her at first...but now?
-- What else can I do.... Thanks...Olivia
