std talk? For more information on symptoms and treatment of endometriosis visit www.EndometriosisZONE.org. From: katherine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Jan 2002 20:39:38 -0600 (CST)
a few years ago i had a small bump near my vagina. when i went to my obgyn she said that it may be HPV. she used a vinegar test and nothing else really showed up but she used liquid nitrogen to treat the lesion and surrounding area anyway. i havent had any recurrences and it has been about 4 years. i also had a blood std and hiv test a couple of times since then at my obgyn and they came back negative. the reason i am concerned is i just really dont know if i have this virus or not...i have used condoms with everyone ever since but im still really paranoid and ashamed to talk about it with anyone. i have been seeing this guy for a few months and really think he is "the one." we have already been sexually active for quite a while. i dont know if i should risk bringing it up and having him leave me or get disgusted if i dont even really know if i have it still or not. is there any surefire and inexpensive way to find out? i never had an abnormal pap or anything then or since. any words of reassurance from anyone in a similar situation is also appreciated as well as the doctor's response. thanks.
