Vivelle dot dosing schedule

OK, I survived the TAH/BSO/Burch/rectocele repair and everything works, I'm alive and kicking and I'm thrilled. A climara patch was put on my shoulder post operatively, to be changed a week later. It stayed on fine, no problems. Hubby filled script and was given generic mylan patch which was huge, thick, obtrusive, kept falling off and left a bloody ring when removed. (Pharmacist replaced 2 of the patches with different batch, still fell off.) At 4 week checkup today, my gyn changed script to vivelle dot, DAW, same .05 strength. When I filled script, I see its twice a week with a 3 day, 4 day interval. I'm "thrifty" (cheap?) and looked up the prescribing information. The plasma concentration does not seem to change much from day 3 to day 4. I'm wondering, since I'm very good at keeping track of things (lots of practise with lots of meds), and there is no differenc be patches with 3 day life and 4 day life, if I can just replace them every 4th day. (Would save $60+ per year.) I'm 50 years old, have never had a hot flash, gyn says my vaginal tissues show plenty of estrogen effect. One of main reasons for ERT is osteopenia and high dose inhaled steriods.

Thank you.

P.S. Both hubby and gyn say its going to take 6 months to a year to get stamina back - I only lost 300 ml of blood and virtually no post op bleeding - but fatigue is big problem. Are they really right?
