vaginal pain 3 years after childbirthFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Dec 2001 15:40:01 -0600 (CST)
I had a 9# 3 oz baby in 1998 by vaginal delivery after 2.5 hrs of pushing (with no doctor or nurse present- I was told to push like having bowel movement and for my husband to count for me to 10) The baby was finally delivered by vacuum after I refused to push anymore. I had a tear from front to back and experienced a pinching feeling in the front for several weeks after delivery. We attempted sex after about 3 months and the pain was excruciating! I had a place on each side just inside the vagina that was painful just to touch. The doctor prescribed estrogen cream, astroglide, etc. (I was breastfeeding at the time)Finally, he suggested xylocaine gel so I could tolerate sex occasionally. After 9 months He put me on a combination b/c pill and that did help quite a bit. However, it is now 3 years later and it still is very sensitive and painful at times. I am pregnant again and I fear that this delivery will cause even more damage. Has anyone heard of this problem??? I am currently having pain with intercourse again but now it is around the uretha opening. Can anyone help ???? What kind of doctor can fix this!! thank you!!1
