The things that can cause odor are most commonly bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and a tampon or other item stuck in the vagina. The last one is easy to diagnose during an exam. The first two can't be diagnosed by culture, but only by wet smear in the office. Trichomoniasis can be difficult to diagnose on the first try, even with wet smear. A visit to another provider might help. You can read more about these problems in the archives. Write again if you have further questions.
