[Birth Control] hair growth and bcp

i have been taking triphasil for 8 years, since about age 18. since
around this time i have had some hair growth in the upper sternum area
and belly button area. Could this be the cause. I have never had very
regular periods before bcp. what do you think would be the cause for
the hair growth, it has slightly increased at the years continue. I
have stopped taking the bcp will it go away? thank you
