SpottingFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 22 Dec 2001 18:16:06 -0600 (CST)
I posted this same sort of question type post a day or so ago, but things are different now. History: 28, 5 pregnancies. Tubal ligation Feb 1998. Diagnostic lap Nov 2000. Unilateral Oopherectomy Dec 4, 2001. Am on Aleese 28 bcp, have been for 1 1/2 years. Never had major problems with them, not even bleeding when it wasnt suppose to occur. I skipped the placebo pills per drs advice / suggestion, this was 2 days prior to last surgery. Started spotting on Dec 13th, it is still going on. Up until yesterday, the spotting was 'scanty' and was only present when I used the bathroom. This a.m. when I woke up, the flow was heavier. Not enough to soak a pad. I had gotten a little light headed, so took an Iron (otc). My dr knows I was spotting (I told her on the 14th). However, she is out of town on vacation, and there is no one covering her patients (military dr). I am suppose to start placebo pills tomorrow, but have decided I will be skipping them and going right on to the next pack of pills, since I have been spotting for 9 days thus far. Is there something else I need to or should be doing? Am I going about this the right way? I just want assurance that this is ok to spot this long. And, how long should I let the spotting go on before seeking medical treatment? Thanks and Merry Christmas!
