Inflamation of the cervixFrom: Aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 22 Dec 2001 14:18:50 -0600 (CST)
I recently had my annual pap smear. I have never had anything so up as abnormal so I was surprised when my doctor told me I had an inflammed cervix at the end of the exam. I got the results back and she said it confirmed what she had thought. It showed signs of an inflammed cervix, atypical cells. She wouldn't tell me what that meant, aside from the fact that it was not caused by an STD. She told me it was nothing to worry about. She prescribed Amino-Cerv, told me to take it for a month and come back for another, different kind of pap smear. I am worried because I don't have any idea of what might or might not be wrong with me. I don't have pain or anything like that so I am really curious. My mother had breast cancer and eventually died of brain cancer. After she died, I found out she had a cyst removed from her ovary when I was born, but never told anyone. I don't know if it was cancer or not.
