bleeding with continuous BCP'sFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 21 Dec 2001 18:13:32 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I'm hoping someone will be able to give me some answers. I have been taking continuous BCP for almost a year now because of endometriosis. Three months ago, my dr. switched me from Loestrin 1/20 to Loestrin 1.5/30 because of spotting. Since I started the higher dose, I have been having a lot more breakthrough bleeding and cramping. Along with the cramping, I also have some left-sided pain. At first, I thought it was coming from the incision from the lap, but now it is located higher than the incision and it is felt a lot deeper. Last week, I had a lot of heavy bleeding and had a problem with feeling real light-headed for about two days. My former dr said that there shouldn't be any pain during breakthrough bleeding from the endo when you are taking continuous bcp's because it's not really a period that you are having. So, I guess my question is what could be causing this pain and is it normal to still be dealing with spotting and breakthrough bleeding after three months on the new dose? Thank you so much for any answers. Hope everyone has a blessed holiday season!! :)
