Re: [Birth Control] Tingling lower legs after getting off the pill...From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Nov 2001 11:39:09 -0600 (CST)
>From my personal experience, both when I first start a pill and when I discontinue it, there is a period of hormonal adjustment where I tend to feel bloated, I put on about 3 pounds of weight (which I assume is water retention), and I get tingling/loss of sensation in my fingers and toes. I think when you retain water, tissues swell up and can put pressure on nerves, causing the tingling feeling. My symptoms usually go away after a few days to a week. When I'm not on the pill, I get these symptoms before ovulation and before my period, sometimes. I would say give it a week or two, then definitely consult your doctor.
