Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Hymen - please help" I am 25 years old and have recently been having flashbacks of being gang raped when I was 12. The memories are so vivid it's hard to believe that they are false. My confusion is that when my husband and I were married 5 years ago and had intercourse for the first time I did experience some light bleeding and some discomfort. Is it possible for the hymen to partially repair itself after many years or is it possible that it could have still been intact? I appreciate any help, I am desperate for answers.
