Armpit lumpFrom: Wanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 26 Nov 2001 20:38:44 -0600
I found a lump in my armpit several weeks ago. My doctor prescribed 10 days of keflex as he felt it might be an infection. This seemed reasonable as I had recently switched deodorant. After the 10 days of medicine, the lump may be smaller; however, I think there may now be two lumps. They aren't necessarily tender although I have several tender areas elsewhere. When I first visited my doctor, he indicated if the keflex didn't work, he would order a mammogram. Today when I called him, he simply referred me to a surgeon. What should I expect?? Could other sore areas be related? The fleshy part of my upper arm is sore as well as a sore area on a lower rib. This is very scary. I had a mammogram just about 2 months ago. wanda
