Just a question or two for you. Two weeks ago I started my period. My boyfriend and I didn't have sex until it was done. After the third night of having sex, I noticed that my vagina was itching. I looked at it and notice the "cottage cheesy" stuff that is typical of yeast infections. I dosed with Monistat and that seemed to take care of the yeast infection, but I then had a minor herpes outbreak (I was diagnosed 2 months ago with Type I on my vagina and have only had the initial outbreak, so far). I took the acyclovir and finished the prescription yesterday. I am still experiencing itching, although not nearly as bad as with the YI or the initial herpes outbreak. My boyfriend and I have only had sex once, when I felt like things were back to normal, but a few hours later I was itchy again. The itching also seems to be localizing on one spot, just inside one of my labia. We've gone from using latex condoms to the polyurethane condoms because we're both sensitive to the latex. Any ideas as to what I should be asking my doctor when I go see her? Thanks so much.
