2nd ASCUS PapFrom: kelley (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Oct 2001 19:16:55 -0600 (CST)
I have searched prior messages concerning an ASCUS pap and some questions have been answered. I still have some worries and would appreciate your help and advice. My annual pap was in June. The results came back with the ASCUS thing. My gyn told me to repeat the pap in three months. Due to prolonged bleeding and anemia, I was put on bc pills(which made things worse) and then progesterone that really made things worse. He finally decided to take me off everything. I also have sever endo. I was told yesterday my repeat pap came back with the same DX. Things weren't any worse nor any better. The nurse said he wants me back in 1 month for another repeat, but this time he is suppose to go further into the cervical canal area for cells. Gosh what is going on? Is this a biopsy or should one be done? Dysplasia was never mentioned nor cancer. I am 42 with two children and never had an abnormal pap until June. Could the removal of an endometrioma last April cause problems in that area? A lap. was done. Thanks and God Bless.
