Re: current misscarriages *when is enough enough*From: ams (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Oct 2001 08:12:27 -0500 (CDT)
I am very sorry for your losses. You have every right to be frustrated and upset! Are you attending any support groups? Sometimes it is helpful to share with others who have similar experiences. You say your doctors tell you nothing can be done. Not to suggest you should not trust your doctors, have you seen a high risk OB (perinatologist) and have you been worked up for anticardiolipid antibodies? I know you say you had "cord complications" with your full term baby that died, but was that because of something they saw at delivery or was that from an autopsy. Sometimes if the cord is around the neck at delivery, people assume that was the cause when it could have been something else and the nuchal cord is incidental. Plus, a cord accident is not a chromosomal problem. So, there might have been both. Anyway, I don't think anyone else can tell you when enough is enough for you and your family! In the mean time, you say you have been tested for everything under the sun, but that doesn't really say what you have been tested for! So, if you want to keep going (and you may or may not), consider seeing a high risk OB. Good luck! Plus, keep in mind that being pregnant is like an emotional and physical marathon. You have had lots of losses which makes it an uphill marathon with no water breaks. Your heart may not want a break, but your mind and body might need one in order to be ready for the next time. I know it is hard to wait! You have been thru a lot--be kind to yourself!
