Re: yeast infection?From: ams (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 23 Oct 2001 08:03:19 -0500 (CDT)
The OTC medications recommend that if you haven't been previously diagnosed with a yeast infection by your health care provider than you should the first time. (You want to be sure that it is a yeast infection that you are self treating.) I will tell you that any time I have gone to the trouble to go to my MD, I often receive a medication that works better than the OTC ones. With a smelly discharge, it could be something else so you might want to at least consult your MD first. The docs here might have a different opinion. I just know I have friends who have wasted their money and time using the OTC meds when it turned out not to be yeast!
