Yes, I have had it. Colposcopy is just looking at your cervix with, basically, a microscope. It doesn't hurt. A lot of times, the doctor will also do a biopsy (which is taking a tiny sample to send to the lab). You will get varying opinions on the amount of pain--from none to severe. It feels like cramps. It just takes a few minutes total. Take advil before you go. You can check the archives here--there are many listings on colposcopy. And, like I said, as far as how painful it is--it is like asking if anything else is painful. We all have different pain thresholds. Just be prepared that a biopsy might cause cramps. Don't worry. Just try to relax when you have it! Good luck.
