Re: What does it mean when the cervix burns?

Dr. Marchbein,

Thanks for the response. I will mention to my dr about the infection potential b/c the way my cervix feels with this burning feels like it might (keyword) be infected.

I didn't get the burning until after I took the fall on July 11th. Could that fall have increased my chances of having my cervix be infected or making the infection (if one was there) worse?

Now I have a question about the nerve aspect of your response: "the latter is a perception thing having to do with the nerves going to the pelvis sending back "incorrect" signals about what's going on." Since this might be the case for me as well as a result of a labioplasty to the left labia minora is it possible that the nerve ending to the labia minora was damaged? If so then I would like your opinion on what I'm about to share next.

I was able to get the op report of that surgery and it said that he used a bovie to take care of the bleeders. It didn't say in that op report though that the dr used a regular scalpel to remove the excess skin. So with the research that I did just the other day on bovies I saw that there is a cut setting on these cauteries. So my question is how (and that's if) would nerve damage occur from using a bovie to cut away excess skin? And if nerve damage did occur or even just damage to the area affected can the problem be fixed?

If so how? The reason that I'm asking is b/c my dr is extremely upset that a urologist and not a gyn did the procedure on me in 1997.

Thank you for your time,

===== Kristy :)
